Undoubtedly you could find lots of comboes with this card, but you'd have to look outside of standard to do it. Just not that great for a 6-drop, and there are certainly better 6-drops out there in this block like broodmate dragon

I was playing in a 5 person free for all and someone played Thoctar with a gorgon's flail on it. Once it had one +1/+1 on it it could kill infinitely many creatures. She wiped out 12 creatures in one turn. This card has amazing potential in the right deck.

People ripping on this card aren't really thinking about what it can do once combined with the right cards. In a zombie deck, this card has unlimited potential.
If you can create a combo with bouncing things to and from the graveyard, Deathbringer Thoctar becomes a freaking beast with infinite power and toughness that can deal an infinite number of damage. Him being a zombie only makes him that much better......definitely an under rated card and without question one that should be a part of any zombie or COMBO deck (seriously, the combo ability on this is amazing).
Also, some of you are dead set that because it needs 6 mana to play, it won't come out until late in the game. Really???? Mana resource cards aren't hard to come by, and having them in your deck makes deathbringer thoctar that much easier to play early in the game.

Thoctars Are Tight In General Make It A Zombie And We Got A Movie. Plus Its Ability Is Devasting It Has No Cost! And Obviously All You ***gots Hatin On This Have Never Picked One Up In Draft

Mephidross Vampire and Deathbringer Thoctar work well together. Definitely a good replacement for Triskelion in Tooth and Nail decks.

combo: this plus unscythe killer of kings plus death baron. once something dies, you can use the plus one counters to clear the board, spawning a horde of zombies with deathtouch.

yeah pretty much only good in multiplayer. unless you reanimate him, but not really worth doing for a 3/3 with no immediate effect.
