Ironic that the only Ingot in magic to date cannot be eaten :P

@Oblivax. You are completely wrong, please do not speak about things you do not understand and gain a full understanding of the game's rules before typing. Evoking a creature creates a delayed trigger and that is why it can be responded to. For evoke to work the way you explained it, it would have to be worded like mox diamond. Please nobody pay him any mind.
and before you question this, please look it up from the primary source. Modo and every real judge, including the one who tutored me for my classes, will prove this to be right.

Ten thousand stars for having the word 'smashitude' on it.

I'd rather play this than Shatter.

The 1 mana Evoke cost makes this good, but he's a bit overcosted if played normaly.

I spent about a year avoiding this guy. Why? Solid in EDH where there are a lot of artifacts that need to be blasted.

@MrCleric
Just make sure he doesn't smashify your Vat when there are no other artifacts out!

The Artwork Is So Ill And He Has An Amazingly Reasonable Evoke Cost

This could be considered to be strictly better than Shatter - half the price for the same effect, and if you pay extra you get a creature to boot!

The first time i saw someone use a blink to get around the evoke sacrifice, I thought it seemed a little fishy, but i let it pass. If you review the rules, specifically 702.72a, it's very clear that the sacrifice is PART of the casting cost, not a triggered effect. Failure to sacrifice the creature makes the evoke fizzle and the creature goes to the graveyard. It doesn't matter if the creature leaves the battlefield, it still must be sacrificed to fulfill the evoke cost. Any judge that misses this obviously hasn't read the rules closely enough.
