It's not that 4/4 for 4 is bad per se, it's that when you have to spend two different color mana you're supposed to get something extra. Trample, Haste, +0/+1, saproling tokens, something. This is just two Grizzly Bears fused in one card.

this guy really shines in drafts; people don't really perceive him as a threat until they've taken a few hits from him. While there are certainly better vanilla creatures out there, it's rare to really find one in sealed or a draft

Don't see why 4/4 for 4 on a common can be bad, especially with such awesome art and flavor text.
If its drawn by Raymond Swanland, than the card SHOULD be as epic as its art though.

If this card had shown up years ago, say in Invasion, people would have flipped their flipping gasket about power creep, and Wizards would have panicked and nerfed green and red in the next block. Nowadays, it's met with a resounding "Meh, decent in Limited," and Wizards goes on to release the Titans.
