It's better than most give it credit for. Just slap it onto something with Hexproof. It's not great, and certainly isn't competitive, but it's not awful.

Also, I don't like the art, but that's because Nielsen's collage-ish look bothers me. There's a card in AVR that has similar art, not a fan of it, either.

@ Gaussgot, it gets rated less than 3 because it's a bad card. Costing only one mana doesn't make it any better, it just causes it to be a cheap bad card. Playing it is the same as telling your opponent "look, I play cards that don't help me win and are no threat to you. Also, if you bounce / kill / steal my creature, I lose two cards at once."
1/5

@TheWrathofShane: You compare this to to angel's mercy? Angel's mercy is one of the worst cards ever printed. Yes: if you slap this on a white knight and attack three times, you gain six life. And then what? If you play a white knight, you play an aggressive deck. You want to kill your opponent as fast as possible. Gaining life is not helping there in the slightest. You can gain a hundred life and still lose for dozens of reasons. And if you add lifegain cards in an aggro deck, you will lose too, because you won't be able to deal enough damage quickly enough.
