ah come on, those side wings are totally flappable. It is a bit odd looking and I doubt it could actually fly but, EH, IT'S MAGIC.
anyway, effect wise, this is one of the more fun artifacts. Play it with Doran, or ninjas.

After careful consideration I have determined that the creation of a thopter deck is a horrible expedition, one that I will noooot be wasting money on when I have so many OTHER decks to be wasting my money on. Hahaha anyway 0 cmc, 0/2 flyer, decent blocker, pump him, blahblahblah obvious combos woot.

While I would never put this in a deck, if you don't have any flying removels for a mono green beat down deck; Then you can't really go wrong here. Having a few zero mana flying defender in your deck is better then having your opponent kill you with Birds of Paradise and Storm Crow's

As has been said, the thing in the illustration of this version doesn't look much like an ornithopter, more like a weird blimp. But, as has also been said, it's Magic. At least it doesn't look as dumb as Runeclaw Bear.

a free flying defender is good, although newbies may not notice the fact that it doesn't cost anything and overlook it.

ornithopter is awesome its so versitile. it can be used in combo with cranial plating for early game devistation. great fodder for grinding station, time sieve, or shrap blast
