Use Elvish Piper or Master Transmuter to drop a Darksteel Colossus onto the field. 11 damage for 3 mana? YES PLEASE.

My question is: Is this considered as combat damage? I'm pretty sure its not, because it would have been waaaay too good (and funny lol). Phage the Untouchable anyone? Or Ebonblade Reaper, Living Hive, Blinding Angel etc etc...

In the current standard, it looks like the closest thing to a 2-card combo is Rakka Mar - If it sticks that's 3 to the dome and 3 from the elemental token, every turn.
Can't really see it happening though, there's just too much removal out there :(

Argent Sphinx, Zektar Shrine, Quest for the Gravelord, Tuktuk the Explorer, Garruk, Rampaging Baloth, Venser style blinks... There are many ways to use this just in standard!

Seems decently useful, but nice.

Nice synergy with infect creatures, seeing as they are the source of the damage..c

This, with Sun Titan and Ball Lightning. You basically get to cast 2 Lightning Bolts per turn, for 3 mana. Not a bad deal.

Notice the damage is done from the creature. Really cool with Vampire Nighthawk for instant kill and lifelink
