One of the 2 cards that threaten you in their text. Other one is Lord of the Pit.

R&D really like terrifying but cost-effective creatures with BBB or more in their cost. Hooray for mono-black!

One of the best vampire cards with Gatekeeper and Nighthawk, and he's not legendary so having four in a deck is amazing and with a four mana cost he can be a game winner in mono black. Only minor downside is swamps don't count.

This and Vampire Nighthawk are the glue that holds Vampire decks together.

Yet another example where the regular art far exceeds the art for the "special addition" pre-release.

Why does it not say "Vampires you control"? Other than that little bit of odd semantics amazing card, we need a reprint, Bloodlord of Vaasgoth is not nearly close enough.

Theres no getting away from it if you want your vampire deck to be any good you need this guy. $18 a pop. i don't have any. Vampires need more stuff because all vampire decks look the bloody same. Why would i pay $18 * 4 just to have a vampire deck thats almost the exact same vampire deck everyone else has.
I feel a good tribe in magic needs to allow for the freedom and fun of having options vampires don't have many at all hence i think they suck - at least until there is a wider pool of options.
To make a good deck I like to use my imagination, not my wallet.
