@arikmoon Deftblade Elite's effect causes damage done to Deftblade to be prevented, it does not cause him to deal no damage. If Deftblade was the one equipped with this, he would still kill the other creature, through damage or Deathtouch. If it was another creature with this attacking Deftblade, and he uses his effect, the damage is prevented and therefore so is the deathtouch ability.
One of my favorite combos in 2010 with this thing is Gorgon Flail + Prized Unicorn + Buff of Choice (i.e. Giant Growth) = Some nice field clearing.

Can someone explain if the Gorgon Flail would kill a creature forced to block by the Deftblade Elite and then the Deftblade uses his prevent damage ability?

Well i'll say Stricktly better than basilisk collar cause you don't need lifelink and extra life if you play this well you'll win and it cost 10 times less bucks !
Tims love this and so Thoctar but what about Scalding Salamander ?
Of course she doesen't touch flyers but she doesn't target anything and pass over shroud and hexproof, it's an instant "ground wrath opponnent side" on turn four !

Death bringer thoctar is good, but your removing counters to do the damage essentially just regaining its 3/3 status once a turn. You want to get really crazy with this card? Use an apocalypse hydra, whats neat about the hydra? Well, its a multicolored, so thats cool, and its come into play as a 10/10 ability, also cool, but its the under rated ping ability on the hydra that really makes it stand out. Equipped with the gorgon flail, an apocalypse hydra can ping any creature off the field every turn, even better, it can be as many times as you want as long as you have mana. The hydra also has to remove a counter, but there are many convienient ways to fix that, such as soul's might, or the getting better all the time.. mayael's aria. The aria gives you back the same counters you are using to get a free creature destruction once a turn, even if you use up 3 counters to clear three of your opponents creatures, your still looking at a 7/7 hydra with death touch that can instantly des...
