Not worth it.

Except in non-mono-green variants, this guy can't hold a candle to Worldwake's Leatherback Baloth. 2 + 3 mana for a 4/4 versus 3 mana for a 4/5. Plus, he dies to Flame Slash, which is very good at doing what it does.
The only thing this guy has going for him over Leatherback is that he can still be dropped turn-two after leveling up a Joraga Treespeaker. I suppose I could see him as a fifth/sixth Leatherback, though.

Most likely this guy is used as a bear, then boosted to level 1 and never gets another counter after that.
As it stands, a good bear.

Oh Vines of Vastwood, how awesome it is that you're in the next rotating block *swoon*
With Training Grounds, homeboy's a 6/6 Trampler Turn 4. Go ahead and run Dispel and/or Spell Pierce in addition to Vines of Vastwood if you'd like to protect this guy the whole way through.

Definitely better than Grizzly Bears - he's still usable late game, but he's a fatty you can play on your second turn. Besides, his types are better supported (outside of a dedicated bear deck, of course).

This guy is NOT strictly better than Grizly Bears.
I mean, its just one guy here, but there are bearS . Also, this guy isn't punching trees in half. So, I'd say, Grizlys are better ;)

Strictly better than Grizzly Bears, but kind of overshadowed by Nest Invader from the same set. I love Zendikar block.
