Somebody said this card is only OP when comboed. Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha you're wrong.
Let's look at a different combo for a second, other than all this infinite strip mine crucible stuff,
Strip Mine + Ornithopter + Paradise Mantle
This combo lets you use Strip Mine's mana gain to get mana ramp. So essentially, it's replacing itself, so then it can take out an enemy land no sweat. That puts the enemy behind by one land.
Also note, that one land can be very useful. For instance, a Cloudpost. Moving on, let's look of other things that work with Strip Mine,
First, you've got your graveyard into library effects, for instance Emrakul, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and a really nice one, Quest for Ancient Secrets. These effects may seem... bad... to some people, but that's why there's Expedition Map, ... (see all)

the art is nice, but it doesnt fit Magic at all, it is is a modern strip mine, not something that Urza or Mishra might carve into the land

I feel like the problem wasn't with Strip Mine, but with the ridiculously powerful cards they printed after. I mean was there any reason for this to be restricted before Crucible of Worlds was printed? On its own it seems like a fairly normal card - a 1 for 1 land trade.

Aside from being absurdly overpowered, this art is gorgeous. It literally makes me want to petition congress to legalize strip mining it is so beautiful. So here is a link to the wallpaper

I hate it when opponents win by my manascrew. I especially hate it when they create that manascrew themselves. I particularly especially hate it when they use utterly OP cards to do so. That's why I loathe this card and despise all who use it.
