People, the alternative casting cost is just icing on the cake.most of the time, it's just 6 mana to get a fatty. The 0 is just against control matchups.

Putting this in my white deck just to see the look on their face.

I'm trying to come up with combos to play this card for free. Here's the best I could come up with:

Use Bazaar Trader to give a Chalice of the Void with 0 counters to you opponent then cast Ornothoper (or some other 0 CMC card.) You'll probably also need a card to ensure that there's a creature worth grabbing near the top of your library (Brainstorm or Long-Term Plans or something.)

Seems like a lot of hoops to jump for just to cheat a creature into play though.

Kind of hilarious against Memory Lapse.

Probably one of my favorite plays against a blue deck:

T1: Forest, Joraga Treespeaker
T2: Forest, level up Treespeaker, Explore, Forest
T3: Forest, attempt to play Primeval Titan, gets countered. Summoning Trap into Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Opponent scoops.

It's good sideboard and decent mainboard. You can easily draw out a counterspell early game and force RUG or similar aggro U strats to spend resources early game to not instant-lose. Also, two of these in hand is hilarious, as you'll likely get something through while they burn all of their counters.

Try to make sure your deck has something like 22+ creatures (a toolboxy nic fit deck, pod, or just a beatdown/stompy deck) that way your chance of hitting something is not only in the high 90th percentiles or so, but that your chance of hitting something good goes up.

Keep good value cards in there, preferably those with EtB effects so that you get extra benefits even if your opponent can kill the critter.
