This card makes me so happy.
Why, you ask?
Let's break this card down, shall we? 1. It doesn't come into play tapped. 2. It doesn't do damage, it LOWERS attack a defense (which is substantially better) 3. Its colorless.
Those three things combined together make this card really very good. It gives you answers to protection-from, it kills ball lightning, it kills bloodbraid, it kills goblin guide. All around, a very, very good card.
If the eldrazi are, indeed, colorless, I anticipate that this card will be maindecked in every single eldrazi-based deck.

Good card if your opponent is dumb enough to attack with a creature with less then 2 toughness. I really doubt red aggro will cast a ball lighning with an untap quicksand on the field. Or that white will attack with the Kor firewalker. Good for psychological warfare, but won't actually kill anything worth it. and with all those new land (pounder blue land, free 0/1 plant green land, deal 1 damage black land, gain 2 life / give protection VS color white land, duo land, man lands ect... Plus you need basic land to use the M10 duo land correctly without basic land you better use the uncommon give 1 life duo land of zendikar) and you need at least 2-3 basic land so you can fetch them when you get path to exile, I have difficulty to enter those land in my decks.

Like Tectonic Edge, this can a decent target to recur with Sun Titan, should you have no 187 creatures (creatures w/ CITP effects) to choose from.
