I'd run this in a mono-black deck with malakirs and innocent bloods.

Zendikar really had the coolest demons, and they almost synergize. Just hellcarve into Persecutor, swing some, and then hellcarve out to win.

What happens if you control both this and a platinum angel and you and every player is at 0 life?

Fling, really? Why splash Red to get a strictly worse version of Rite of Consumption? Sure, it's not instant speed, but for the context of utilizing Abyssal Persecutor that's irrelevant... To the genius who played Indestructability on his opponent's Persecutor - indestructible creatures can still be sacrificed. I've yet to see an Abyssal deck without sac outlets, but maybe your homie's deck was real gimped though :D

This guy in a loner deck with Homicidal Seclusion and sac outlets like Altar's Reap and even other loners like Demonic Taskmaster and you have yourself a deck. Throw in some killing wave, and kill spells, discard, etc and you have a neat deck.

Use it to belittle your oponent only to bring Bazaar trader out and well, trade. Lock whoever is ahead out of the game until you can win, excellent in EDH, everyone else will appreciate that move :)

Put shroud on it so they dont try anything funny like sacrificing it.

there in the same set for Peet's sake...

Too bad you have to have a marsh badge in order for this guy to let you win the game.

Powerful when you get him out early. But you have to get rid of him when you want to win.

This is the most "black" of the cards out there. When I look at this card, I don't think about the drawback. If you play black well and proficiently, the drawback just makes this demon more flavorful.
