Yes, Universalis, that's the way it would work.
Of course, there is plenty of creature removal that does not rely on damage, such as doomblade, and swords to plowshares, and this guy is a prime candidate for that too. You could always kit him out with shielding plax or the like and at that point, if you still have 1 mana open, there aren't too many ways to get rid of him (wrath of god, and the like).
Still, I'm imagining a situation where you're about to lose the game unless you get him out this turn, and you are at 7 mana, so you bring him out and, because you didn't keep 1 mana available, he gets hit by something for 1 point of direct damage and you still lose.

Why does everyone say the same stuff over and over again. oow a Doom Blade and hes gone... just like any other creature!!!!
THe next thing everyone complains about is his cost which isnt that bad considering the other cards in standard right now. Birds of Paradise Arbor Elf Elvish Piper Lotus Cobra. Ther all 1/1 mana ramp creatures that can help get him out on turn 4ish and then ther all 7/7s

@Superllama12 - How do you plan to 'power down' your opponent's Kozi? This card very clearly states "...you control...".
I suppose that you could gain control of Kozi, drop his P/T, give it back to your opponent, then have it attack somehow, but that's a little much to get rid of him, hey?

This guy is so crazy. Also he can turn himself into a 7/7 and take on even the bigger creatures by himself. Giant Growth also works perfectly with him.
