Hehehe, maybe I'm the only Johnny that has really looked at this, but this is actually an insanely good card that can cause of a lot of amazing card combos and deck synergy. This along with Guardian Seraph has inspired some really fun decks for me.
Sure it isn't a Baneslayer Angel, but this coupled with things like Goliath Sphinx and Cradle of Vitality? How about Wall of Reverence for all you non-believers? Now, what do you think?

After play testing this card, its actually surprisingly good. If it read something more like "all flying creatures that enter play gain lifelink" everyone would be like omg, but that is just about the effect it has. It triggers on itself initially and then continues to gain life every turn there after you can put something into play. I regained 25 life from being down to 5 against a living end deck using this card over a couple turns. The closest thing to that would be divinity of pride at 4/4 and lifelink, but the archon is arguably easier to cast since it only takes two white and anything. So far I think this card is being under rated. It has great synnergy with emeria angel, pride of the clouds, kira glass spinner, sphinx of jwar isle, and even the new goliath sphinx (although why would you want to play goliath sphinx I have no idea, draft maybe?)
Is it the best flyer for white? No, probably not, and its no baneslayer.

Emrakul for +15 life literally adds insult to injury.
It's funny with Wonder in the bin, making Phyrexian Dreadnought the most cost-efficient lifegain sorcery the world will ever see. That's mostly good for the laughs, though.

It can't just be thrown into any white deck, since there is a lot of good competition for the 5 mana slot. Gaining a few life is not worth the relatively lax power of this creature. Guardian Seraph will outperform this most of the time.
You can build W/R attrition decks that like this though.
You will only take a net 2 damage when casting this through a manabarbs, and the second one would net you a life. And you will gain a net 1 life in any turn in which there is only one spiteful vissions out. When all the players are racing the clock, getting an evasive attacker and good blocker that cushions your life can be the winning card.
If you can get out a flickerwisp, and then play a second and have them endlessly cycle each other, then you could gain 3 life at the end of everyone's turn, but even that it kinda lame.
