Umm, U caster, you HAVE looked at the other blue stuff in standard, right? Pretty much EVERY SINGLE BLUE CARD is support. This is excellent. Supporting it should be NO PROBLEM at all.

I played a few games with this and Crystal Ball on the field. End of opponent's turn, Scry 2, line up the next draw and the next card to pick with the sphinx. Declare attackers, pull Mighty Leap with this ability, and cast it to fly over all the blockers. Fun combo.

Really a very good card, but overshadowed as a 4-drop by Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Cryptic Command. Still awesome in budget decks.

"Strictly better than Air Elemental unless you think the ability is a drawback..."
Depends upon who has the Sensei's Divining Top.

This guy has turned into the champion of my "keep it simple" blue deck.
Augury Owl for Scry & a strictly worse storm crow. Aether Adept for awesome field control.
Other than that just a whole lot of control, bounce, & steal for later. This guy fits the curve so nicely. I can trade with Jace's -1 for a turn, Into the roil it the next turn, and then steal it with a Volition Reins since I'm always dropping a land. Love it all.

I never figured out why this isn't a sideboard against Caw-Blade. It eats Squadron Hawk and other birds, even when carrying Swords (except Sword of Body and Mind, which rarely sees play.) The effect is also surprisingly decent, and it has CMC=P/T, with Flying and a non-drawback ability, in BLUE.

@Darthricardo: Conundrum Santa?! 5-star comment - I laughed out loud. =D
Very efficient flier, CMC-wise, and of course as people have said already there are many ways to make his ability work for you. The only possible downside would be that if you ARE using him to draw bonus cards, you are losing the element of surprise; your opponents will always know what you're getting. Still, the card advantage might outweigh that, depending upon your playgroup!
