It's fine in Limited when you don't have any other way to draw cards. I mean, it's colorless, of course it's not going to be perfect. Statistically, the draw will usually cost less than Dreamstone Hedron.

Yes, Cade, with enough luck, you can use voltaic key to draw extra cards through manipulation of the stack. Then add multiple keys for extra fun!

this is draw three cards for 6 or more mana.. pretty eh.. maybe useful in monored where card drawing is absent.. but otherwise i don't really see any good use for this

pretty bad card, but I do like the flavour, and I also like krarks thumb. cost is too costly though... should only cost like 2 or 3 to play

Can this be combined with voltaic key to get twice the effect?

It's can be classified as instant speed card draw and it's cost can be reduced by Etherium Sculptor. However, the flip a coin thing could get annoying after multiple fails.

This thing is just bad. Too expensive and unreliable for the effect it grants. If you want to draw cards, there are better ways to do it available to just about every color.

This came in the "doomsday machine" stock Archenemy deck. I had it out at one point with I Know All, I See All in play (my stuff untaps during opponents' untap steps) and hit the ability at the end of everyone's turn. It took me 5-6 tries to get it to work.
It was one of the first cards I took out.
