One thing I'm curious about..
If the creature this was targeting became untapped before resolution, would it become an illegal target, thus making Assassinate fizzle out?
I'm fairly certain that's how it would work, but I'd like another opinion if anyone knows otherwise :D

5/5 because I like the mana cost, restriction and the sorcery speed.
I would be happy, if most of the destruction spells would have similar costs/restrictions... Still useful against creatures with a high casting cost, well-balanced against mid-game creatures and a waste against weenies.... Well done!
