It's the instant speed that really makes this a good card. There are other cards out there that gain you life equal the the creatures in play, but nothing as good as this baby.

Lifegain is fun and all, but this just doesn't have a good place. If you're winning, this is a winmore card. If you're losing, this will at best stall for a couple of turns, assuming that your opponent doesn't have much power but does have plenty of creatures. You should be playing answers to threats, not cards that do nothing.

Would fit into a heavy token deck very nicely.... Outside of that, I doubt it will see a lot of play.. Maybe in EDH.
