Question: My friend uses Myr welder to exile his Myr Galvanizer or whatever. If I kill Myr welder, he brings it back with myr reservoir, and then replays it, does it still have the activated abilities of the cards it exiled? it seems to me like it shouldn't for the same reason why vensering a kicked Kor Sanctifiers doesn't allow you to keep killing artifacts/enchantments. at the same time, the cards WERE exiled with myr welder. so I dont know

@Ninjakraken
From the comprehensive rules:
400.7. An object that moves from one zone to another becomes a new object with no memory of, or
relation to, its previous existence.
So the myr welder will have no memory of the galvanizer it exiled when it hits the battlefield again, so your friend can't use it.

It has an absurd battlefield play combo in Standard, as it is right now, but good luck getting it to work.
You need two Myr Galvanizers and a Palladium Myr for the infinite mana. Hard enough, then exile Prototype Portal and put out tokens of any Artifact that you have Exiled with the Welder.

@ Garret That works with 3 myr welders, and nothing else, oddly enough.
The Palladium and Prototype Welder may as well be the same, as you can repeat ad infiatum.
Sooo... Infinite Blightsteel Collossi, anyone?

Synod Sanctum and phyrexian devourer
Beat that.
All your spells, lands, creatures, planeswalkers, enchantments, and artifacts enter the battlefield under your control.
If you somehow managed to use him to infinity tap and untap with say eater of the dead and void maw by having them in your deck then all you need to have in there is scrib nibblers to take all other players decks away as well.
Tap for mana ability?
And since we are in black lets use that to kill everything else and exile everyone's graveyards/hands.
Yes give me all the cards in the game.
I play all your cards, hope no one plays with phage. If not you win all magic.
For 2T: none the less.

Incidentally, it will gain equip if you exile an equipment, but equipping it will do nothing. At least the ruling suggests that, since equip's reminder text has '(equip cost): attach to target creature you control'. I guess if you have Leonin Shikari you can save it from removal?

try this
Myr Welder + Myr Reservoir + Myr Turbine
Myr Welder + Sarcomite Myr + Myr Quadropod
you can make him whatever you need him for
the ofcourse you have...
1. Lotus Bloom / Lotus Blossom/ Gilded Lotus / Mox Opal / Thran Dynamo
2. Spellskite
3. Master Transmuter
4. Staff of Domination
just to make things intresting

Hang on, hang on. Knowledge Vault.
"{0}: Sacrifice Knowledge Vault. If you do, discard your hand, then put all cards exiled with Knowledge Vault into their owner's hand."
"In response to your Doom Blade, I sac Myr Welder and return all the exiled artifacts to my hand."
That would be pretty cool.
EDIT: With the new update to the Theros rules, (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/266b&page=3) Myr Welder can now function as equipment using Transmogrifying Licid! My inner Johnny is overjoyed!
Not really the most useful combo, of course, most equipment doesn't use activated abilities directly... but still cool.
