It looks good, but in practice it usually works out as "2RR: target player will have a land next turn". Because you just know that whenever you cast it you'll get a land or a Memnite or something.

This is core red, anyone can aprreciate a lightning bolt, but the pure chaos of not knowing how much damaga you'll do, maybe just causing slight burns (pulse tracker) or a napalm bomb (malakir bloodwitch), sometimes causing the equivelant of a nuclear explosion (emrakul) or a big bang(gleemax), it's pure chaos, I love it. The beauty is, if your opponent is running low mana creatures, they will usually have low health too, meaning it stiller clear aggro boards. Unreliable, but often devastating.

This is how I use this card I tag it with chandra ablaze discard it with chandra's +1 ability to do consistent 4 damage and then cast it from the grave with the -7 to do random damage. If it's a land then I get it back in hand and here comes more 4 consistent damages. This way I don't really have to worry about no damage waisting my mana or running out of hand with chandra and have to use the - 2 ability to redraw.

Extremely underrated card. It's a one-sided board wipe for 4 people. Sure it misses sometimes, but I've found more often than not it hits, since people tend to play similar CC mana spells in Standard these days. If you hit a land, you get it back. It's just too good.

"Put target creature on top of it's owner's library"... Could combo well with memory lapse

Hmm... thinking... Shrine of Burning Rage could benefit from you getting your red spell back. Semblance Anvil could reduce the cost of this to RR. Lapse of Certainty is where I could see this card shining.

I was at the recieving end of this last weekend, and boy, does it hurt (I revealed a Blightwidow). Especially because average CMC in draft is higher that in constructed.

My friend layers his own deck during play in most casual games ( we let him as he's not very good at M:TG) I can usually see what hes put on the top.
So anyway he runs a green mana ramp deck with an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. I waited for him to put it on the top and played this card. The look on his face was priceless

One of my favorite red cards. I love how blue is tempted not to counter this, on the off chance there's a land or a cheap spell on top. In that sense it often makes both players gamble.
