Turn 1- Either Raging Goblin or Slippery Bogle
Turn 2- Cast Lightning Greaves
Turn 3- Cast Swiftfoot boots, equip them to your creature, and then equip lightning greaves.
There. A creature so fast and so well covered, your opponent will concede at the sheer audacity of its footwear.

It basically adds 
to the casting cost of your creatures, but rewards you for being harder to remove. Its way more balanced then lightning greaves.

In a backdraft I had a choice to take a foil one of the or a foil Rune-Scarred Demon. I picked the demon but I'm not sure I made the right choice.

Pretty nice. Probably won't replace Lightning Greaves in my deck, though it is tempting.

Yeah, but I like using the greaves and Leonin Shikari to basically give all my creatures Shroud for free whenever I find it necessary.
It'll definitely find a place in my EDH deck, once I get around to making it.

The point is: giving a creature haste makes only sense if it has summoning sickness. So to make good use of this equipment, you'd have to constantly move it around, which is quite a pain since that costs mana.
Lightning Greaves did it right. They don't cost anything to equip, which is a great combination with haste. Add shroud and it's an awesome card. This card here sucks. Costing more mana to play, giving no shroud AND costing mana to move around. :|

Actually, Superllama12, equiping is sorcery speed. Thus, you could not do it in response to the doom blade or whatever. This is the reason for the higher equip cost, its added versatility

Very nice. Probably will replace Lightning Greaves in my deck, because it allows me to target the equipped creature whenever I want and without letting my guard down.
Also, giving an equip cost to this, even if it is only , makes it more balanced in my opinion.
