I'll agree that having an equip cost of zero is just too good. There are just too many creatures you can play that if you have this out with them, basically say "answer with removal now, or forever hold your peace." Like, I dunno, Deep-Sea Kraken. I love the idea of this card, but equip costs of zero are just broken. Wizards appears to agree with the sentiment, evidenced by printing Bone Saw over Shuko.

i just looked at this card for the first time. O M G. giving shroud OR haste to any creature after turn 2 for 2 mana is good enough, but both? really? did anyone else realize u can just reequip it for free everytime u play a better creature? i give it like a 5.5/5 i mean, cooooomee oooooooonn

while the affects are cost of this card are great, the shroud affect has one serious drawback,
The official rules for shroud are as follows:
702.16. Shroud
702.16a Shroud is a static ability. "Shroud" means "This permanent or player can't be the target of spells or abilities."

meaning you can't target the equipped creature with even you're own spells or abilities that can directly target it. That includes other equipment.

Aside from all of the excellent suggestions other users have made, I'd like to also mention how great these shoes are in reanimator decks. Not only does it make your newly risen creatures immune to spells, but also gives them the ability to attack immediately. Combine this with the innate "come into play" abilities of many modern fatties, and you could easily change board position greatly. Think about it:

Unearth a Cosmic Larva and slap Lightning Greaves on. Swing for 7 with trample.

Zombify Arcanis the Omnipotent and slap on the shoes for a 3 card tap.

Cast Dread Return on Nicol Bolas, slap on a Lightning Greaves and hit for 7 in the air with massive discard.

The possibilities are endless, and the fact that this is both cheap (to equip and cast) and colorless, and not even a rare, makes this card amazing.

Equip for 0 is just wrong. If this had equip for 1 it wouldn't be nearly as stupid. Giving haste is kind of a big deal.

god this card is dumb. seriously? put it on spikeshot goblin for a nigh-invincible creature that can mega-burn anything on the board (assuming you put any number of uber cheap equips on him that improve power)

@Kryptnyt: This card doesn't have any effect on Wrath of God, since Wrath does not target. Even creatures with shroud die to Wrath and similar board-wipes.

@HaseoYamazaki: The "drawback" of this card isn't as big of a deal as you seem to think. No, you cannot target the equipped creature with your own spells or equipment, but as long as you have at least one other creature in play, you can simply shift the Greaves to the other creature for free, do whatever you need to on the first creature, then shift the Greaves back to it when you are done. It leaves the creature vulnerable to instant removal while you do it, but that's not that big of a drawback in my book. Just wait until your opponent is tapped out before doing it.
