Redirect is more usefull against a hexproof deck - ie Lord of the Unreal or Asceticism. That is because you can target their Doom Blade against their own creatures, when your spells couldn't target them. It works in 2 ways - you keep a creature, and they lose one.
However I think @sniper_ix had it right, allowing a Primeval Titan to resolve, giving them 2 lands every turn until they play removal, is not as good as a hard counter, Mana Leak etc.

Works great when you're stealing an Umbra, Splinter Twin, Angelic Destiny, or Armored Ascension (since they still control the enchantment, the new creature will still get the buffs).

I kinda wish it could redirect activated and triggered abilities, but then maybe it would be too good :)

@sniper_ix: Interestingly, Spellskite also features a dig on green in the flavor text.

@CaptainNinJoe: Haunting Echoes wouldn't be the best spell to use this on, since your opponent could still choose to not find any cards in his deck. Though it would save you from it, and empty out your opponent's graveyard.

I have three of these. At the very worst, it counters a targeting spell and throws it back in your opponents face. Sadly, my brother (the only person I can really play) packs little to no noncreatures in his decks so 'I have no good stories.

Anyway, I would love to see this let you redirect an activated ability along the lines of Reroute.

This came in during a game I played (though the cards are a bit different the effect is the same)

a) I unsummon your creature!
b) I redirect it to your creature with hexproof!... is that allowed?

Because, it IS A's spell targeting the hexproof so it's not disallowed by hexproof... is it?

Also with doom blade 's destroy target nonblack creature, I can't redirect it to a black creature and it'll do nothing, can it?

>>Crazycolorz5

Redirect opponent's unsummon on a hexproof creature that player controls. Yes it is legal, because you do not gain control of that spell, you just changed the target. However, you cannot make it target a hexproof creature you control since it is an illegal target for that spell.

You cannot change doomblade's target to a black creature because doomblade can only target non-black creatures. Black creatures can't be declared as a target for doomblade unless you somehow changed the color word with another spell or ability beforehand.
