I love mono Red legacy, but I refuse to run flame rifts. Taking 4 is too risky. Yes Red wins fast, but this takes a good turn away from you, each. Pssst, run boros charm. Cough arid mesa.

The problem with this card is that you can't always afford to take 4 damage. Yes, it doesn't matter how little life you have as long as you win, but this card will have a hard time making you win. It's not like you're opponent is just going to sit around and let you burn them to death. I'd much rather use something like Rift Bolt, Incinerate, Searing Spear or even Volcanic Hammer.
