Ante in tournaments is an interesting thing in itself. Points are awarded for dollar amount advantages rather than the wins themselves. Playing ante isnt always fun, but the fact that its in magic gives it a rich history.

I had a lot of fun with this card in Shandalar -- the computer would always ante another card (because all it cared about was winning that match), even if its situation was totally impossible to recover from, so you could grab a lot of extra stuff from it with this. Also a lot of fun in the dungeons where life totals carry over.

...Well, if you ever make a Green/Blue Ante deck, get laboratory maniac out and then dump the rest of your deck into the ante. You win, unless they kill maniac. that'd suck.

3GGG to be healed back to 20 life is a good deal. You guys are just brutal towards anything that involves life gain. I'm surprised you scrubs didn't rate Zuran Orb 1/5 stars.
So what if you ante one more card. Rebirth gets you back in the game and gives you a chance to recover your initial ante as well. What if your initial ante was a valuable card? You'd be glad to throw in a Forest or Scryb Sprites for the chance to get back to 20 life and save your prized card.

This is the only green Ante card. Which is more then white and blue got - neither color has an Ante card.

Interesting, but seriously, antes were a bad idea. I don't think people really use them anymore, and even more so, allow cards that effect the ante when playing for bids (Jeweled Bird is a really unfair way to abuse ante, especially if you were playing for big things, like a mox or something, hehehe :P )

Ante was a terrible idea from the start, and is best forgotten about.

Of all the cards that dealt with the Ante, this one was by far the worst.

Aside from the ante elephant in the room, this card is also dated in it's use of the word "healed".
Also my god it is awful. You can be healed for 6 CMC, only if you double your possible losses? Then you gives your opponent the opportunity to do the same? ouch.

This card used to frustrate my opponents beyond belief.
