This seems really good for bloodthirst, and a repeatable damage source for so cheap is pretty good in Limited to boot.

It seems like most red decks will do better running the also-1-CMC Grim Lavamancer, unless you're bloodthirst-heavy or for some reason you're running a red deck where nothing ever goes to the graveyard. But given the somewhat situational graveyard interaction the Lavamancer has, it's certainly not a case of strictly worse by any means.

My War Elemental loves it too! I still think his ability should require R to activate. I do hate me some power creep.

Yeah. Just a shameless ploy to make bloodthirst important.
And on a Goblin, too. Not sure if they're still as good as they used to be, but I'm still sick of every other color getting new and exciting tribals, only to see at least one damn golbin in EVERY set. Sure, it's a core set, but there were no Elves in Kamigawa and no Humans in Lorwyn. Not to mention how many sets passed by without Merfolk. But every set has goblins.

This guy is fantastic! A one drop pinger to toss Pemmin's Aura and Sigil of Sleep upon.

@Korethal: Summoning sickness prevents creatures without haste from attacking or using abilities with {T}. So no, unless you find a way to give it haste, you can't just cast this and tap it to ping.

Give it a Sword of X and Y and watch your opponent cry.
