Guarenteed damage each turn is a winner especially with BloodThirst!!!!! A nice one cost card that will become a staple in any standard red deck.

I vote him as the second-best turn 1 drop in red standard, under Stromkirk Noble. I think he is better than Grim Lavamancer just because you don't need to keep mana open for his ability and don't need to rely on stuff being in your graveyard, especially with cards like Time Reversal around. 5/5 too because the 1 damage adds up faster than you would think, especially if you get more than one out.

i just love him cause a lot of my creatures have Bloodthirst 1 or Bloodthirst 2 so this 1 dmg can change 2/2 vampire with lifelink to 4/4 vampire with lifelink :D

I drafted four of these and ended up going red-green with a very solid bloodthirst deck. Without those four slingers that deck had nothing going for it, but with them, I did pretty well. Red has great bloodthirst creatures at 2, 3, and 4 mana.

Despite the low cost and ease of use, the Goblin doesn't harm creatures. I missed that and went into a game with 4 of them, only to discover that they are powerless against creatures. However, my Circle of Flame took care of most 1 toughness creatures. It's at least something to consider.

This is better than that 1 drop 1/1 unblockable mono-black spirit, something named Hollow.

Great in my mono-red burn/bloodthirst deck. Ping over blockers, then get a 3/3 Stormblood Berserker on turn 2 :D
