*give it vigilance
*change the ability to: "The first spell you play each turn costs W more to play if it is white."
maybe?

It does have the same combo Derelor once did (although Derelor was actually playable on its own, once in the day, back when 4/4 for 4 was impressive.) Change its color word or play Painter's Servant, then donate it to someone who doesn't have access to white mana, and they're screwed. Not a good combo, but it's a combo.
It still sucks though. Honestly, the 3 toughness is a disadvantage, since it hurts you while it's on the field. Stupid thing can't even die right.

This is the most baffling of the leeches. At least the other leeches have stats above the standard creatures of the time. Not enough to justify the crippling drawback mind you, but still better than the standard deal. But white has had Savannah Lions forever. I suppose that you can argue that it never had a 1/3 for w before... but why would it want one?

1 more point of power and this might have some merit.

The new Legendary Creatures in Commander 2013 edition will make the price of this skyrocket! Why, I might actually get money from them instead of paying people to take them from me.

@Kurhan
Read the card again. "White spells you cast"

All the leeches of this type are useful. It's simple, you donate to an opponent then color hack it to hose their deck. If you don't understand this, its time to get a new hobby.

It's because Leeches suck. Get it?
