Maybe it's:
-Regular Kithkin (1/1) but he was influential!
-He dies, but his influence carries on (2/2)
-Over time stories are built around his past and he becomes not just some guy with good ideas, but a warrior as well, inspiring others! (Imagine a warrior jesus)
-After many hundreds of years he isn't merely an epic kithkin, or profoundly intelligent warrior, but he's become legendary in his unimaginable accomplishments.
While I'm fairly sure this isn't what they intended it does (to me) represent a reasonable analog to religious figures.

You can also skip the first two levels with Mirror Entity, paying 
for 
and proceeding with your Changeling of Destiny/Avatar to-be, all at instant-speed, unlike the new "level-up" mechanic...sorcery-speed.

@OmegaSerris: Well you could imagine it this way
1) Was born.
2) Dies an innocent death (boggart raid maybe?), yet his anger and need of retribution ties his spirit to this world.
3) In his new form, he learns how to fight so that he can take revenge over the evil that slay him and defend his clachan.
4) As he assists his living comrades, he earns their praise. Now, fueled by their worship, becomes an Avatar and takes flight.
