Now we know why he usually wears a hood. Put it back up! That is a face only a mother could love.

Gaffy00:

Wouldn't Jace's ability also make him mill an extra ten each turn that you didn't count?

HedronMatrix:

Wouldn't they lose 20 life not ten because they lose two life for each card milled?

I personally like this Jace more because a person like me isn't willing to pay at least $60 for one card!

This + Plagiarize + as many Jace's Erasures as you can get out = drawing 40 cards and milling your opponent 40, 80, 120, or 160 cards, depending on how many Erasures you have.

D.A. Gregory is to be commemorated for ruining not one but two planeswalkers' art in M12; both Chandra and Jace.

What is this, trying to appeal to the anime/Final-Fantasy group? Absolutely terrible art.

I really hope this card can somehow make mill decks relevant again, but I doubt it.

It might seem like he would be a mill monster, but honestly, Jace, The Mind Sculptor could even do that better against a standard deck, being able to get up to his ultimate before the Adept can finish off a typical deck. This assumes you have no other mill cards, but that's the thing. Jace, The Mind Sculptor didn't need backup. I suppose it's another reason why he was so overpowered.

Jace Beleren is probably still preferable in most decks with an option between him and Adept.

At least the ultimate ability produces the desired reaction. Dang, that's cool.

Does Jace just HAVE to be a stereotypical pale-faced introverted intellectual emo anime wannabe?
It isn't just the look, it's the whole withdrawn arrogant attitude and flavor that reeks of Japanese-culture geek cliches.

The card itself is ridiculously powerful again, but safer this time than Jace II because it costs one more mana and is a combo enabler without the built-in ability to "defend itself". This Jace helps you rather than shellacking your opponent all by itself. The +1 is actually more powerful than Jace II, and it's great because it gives you the cards that you need to be good with the other two abilities. The other two abilities you need to build around; the 0 ability will either give you the flashback/ reanimator/ dredge/ other graveyard fodder your deck needs, or will start the mill on the opponent. The -7 will either for sure complete your graveyard-centric combo or finish off the mill on your opponent. Very powerful, but at the moment it seems safe to construc... (see all)

Activating his ultimate the turn you play him? That may just be THE single most epicly awesome combo using Doubling Season in the entire game of Magic.
