I think the idea is that your performance is either skilled enough that it is akin to a goblin war drum (so your rioting minions break through and damage the opponent), or so terrible that the opponent's creatures can't stand it and do the same to you.

This isn't actually that bad if you keep your creature numbers up, and your opponents' creature numbers down. And even more so in group hug/craziness/chaos decks, where games are very often won or lost on a flip of a coin or play.

Mob Justice and Massive Raid work quite a bit better, but of course direct damage is in red's color pie. Burn at the Stake and Foundry Champion are fun options, too.
