5/5. Winning combo piece. "Killing Gentleman" and "Harmful Stranger" are the two decks that break this card. I've seen it first turn. And it's something you don't soon forget.

Looks horrible until you get in a situation where you are in dire need of it.
I agree in the generic fantasy statement, but it is fairly unique as magic cards go.
Overall, 3.5/5

Doesn't seem too strong on the surface, merely useful, but I am certain that in the right deck (or the right environment) it's a killer. I think the fact that it was banned/restricted demonstrates that well enough.

who doesn't get to the point in a game where drawing lands is just a frustration? this thing, regardless of what else it combos with, is so handy. an absolute staple with merfolk (you only need about six of those 20+ islands), green speed (the trick is to NOT sac the forest with all the enchantments on it), multi-multicolor (cleaning up the surplus to keep you alive), and pretty much any other deck, provided that sticking around for one or two more turns can mean the difference. at 0 cmc, the only investment is a slot in the deck, and if you can't give it that, you deserve what's coming to you.

Favorite card ever. Obviously broken, but it added so much fun to casual games in elementary school.

Neutralizes the pain of Dingus Egg, making an Armageddon deck more viable than ever.
Stretches out games til you can pull your bomb and win.
Grinds your opponents lands while you profit(In set: Orcish Squatters)
As before mentioned, a staple in the Necropotence deck, a favorite of Balance, and Crucible Of Worlds was the cherry on top for this.
Integral piece of an infinite life combo.
5/5, or you're stupid.
