Saved me from a Demon horde brought into existence by Skirsdag High Priest. I was lucky that my opponent was playing so conservatively, or he may have wiped me out in the time it took him to amass three tokens. Luckily I had handy-dandy Harvest Pyre for the priest himself.
In addition to that scenario, it was no doubt essential to my victories in other rounds of the prerelease.

This card plus Mirrorweave equals entire board wipe.

This thing is already card advantage right off the bat with flashback. Somewhat expensive, but not insanely so. It's repeatable removal. It exiles, which is becoming more and more important with Solar Flare looking to be the dominant metagame at this time. And it could be utterly insane card advantage if the opponent happens to have tokens, multiples or any of the really popular cloning creatures out.
Yeah, I think I'm ready to give this one a 4/5. MBC deck, here I come.

The definitive way of saying "I fart in your general direction!"
Or maybe that's Army of the Damned.

Player 1 has three Lord of Lineage, 3 vampire tokens, and 3 untapped swamps. Player 2 casts Sever the Bloodline on one of the Lords. In response, to keep as many of them on the field as possible, Player 1 should:
1. Transform the targeted Lord
2. Transform the other two lords
3. Transform all of the lords.
Thanks for the help :)
How does targeting with this spell work, is it names when it resolves, or names when cast?

Seems like a good card against the Illusion deck in standard right now. Once they drop the Phantasmal Image copying the Lord Of The Unreal to give their lords hexproof, you can still target the non-illusion Lord and have your opponent exile the images since the spell doesn't target them.

Answers tokens, but also answers Unburial Rites -> Sun Titan -> Phantasmal Image from Solar Flare, and Wurmcoil Engine -> Phyrexian Metamorph from Grand Architect. Destroys Wurmcoil Engine without leaving behind tokens.
4 mana unconditional exile isn't actually that bad in a world where people are playing wurmcoil engines and unburial rites. It has two worthwhile bonus effects, in addition.

This will form the cornerstone of my Essence of the Wild + Donate + Sever the Bloodline deck for years to come!
