For B/R, there is now Dreadbore.
This one prevent the regeneration. It nice, but situationnal.
Dreadbore can also destroy a planeswalker. It's more versatile. Sometime, you just need to destroy his Gideon or Jace.
Both of them are awesome, and it a good idea to run both in a casual B/R deck instead of Doom Blade, etc.

Anzu-chan - while in most cases Dreadbore can hit more stuff effectively due to hit walkers (and not too many of the best creatures having regeneration), there's a reason why most high level modern decks run Terminate over Dreadbore.
Ok, so what's the reason? What's the other difference, besides planeswalker vs regeneration?
Instant vs sorcery.
Being able to cast Terminate at instant speed means that you can cast it at the end of their turn, and potentially hit a bigger threat. If they're playing a deck with counters, you force them to either take the Terminate or tap out mana on their own turn, giving you more freedom on yours.
Terminate is, I'd say, usually better from a strategic point of view. :-)

better than dreadbore for the simple fact that these go for like 75 cents a pop and Dreadbores are ridiculously expensive. I get the planeswalker removal but if you're running red, you should just be able to burn a walker and move on.
