If you cast this with Hypergenesis, will it nuke the field?

Extremely cost efficient for the body & effect. And doesn't allow regeneration. Even after these years this still feels unfair when you are on the receiving end. But a good and balanced card when compared to Phyrexian Obliterator or Baneslayer Angel. 4/5

I love cards like this. It's effect is simple, and doesn't need to be part of some huge combo chain to be devastating, though you can still link it up to one for even more hurt. Obviously great for running mono-black. A bit too expensive for if you splash some black in your artifact deck, but there are probably some workarounds that I can't think of for the time being.

Amazing card - pure evil, as it should be.

Here is a great way to lose friends: Stock the field with black creatures and swamps. Play natural affinity to turn all lands into creatures. Then play reiver demon. Your swamps are creatures, but they are black. Your normal creatures are also black. You opponent's lands and creatures are toast. Oh yeah, and you have a 6/6 flyer on the field. They usually concede at that point.

He descends in a cloud of whirling death, sparing only those who share his nature. One of my favorite cards.

Reiver Demon, in its time, probably wasn't the best card to play.

In Mirrodin, many of the creatures were Artifacts, and all tournament-worthy decks were artifact based. I know for a fact because one store owner I go to was Mexico's champion in 2004, and he said that every deck was Affinity-based (including his).

I just have 1 question: His ability doesn't activate when Kaalia brings him out, right? Since he wasn't cast, it doesn't count...
The reason I ask is because I've played Kaalia, attacked, brought him out, and then wiped the board without anyone interjecting. I do use the Divine Vs Demonic copy, which says "if you played it from your hand", which confused me at first...

Only the evil and unliving can even bare his presence. This is truly a demon from hell.

Awesome board-wiper. His power in multiplayer is surpassed only by Plague Wind. If you are the only one playing black, everyone will HATE you when he resolves, and *somebody* is gonna get screwed hard regardless. Then the next game, expect to have everyone ganging up on you :/ (Then I MUTILATE! MRUHAHAHAHA!)

Funny thing is that he kills Akroma and Bankslayer Angel by just making his appearance! Shame about Avacyn though. Well, hehe, that's what him + Induce Despair is for ^_^ !

Love mono Black!

4.5/5
