Funny as hell with Sanguine Bond.
Unfortunately this card does not say gain life.
Fortunately it doesn't need to.
Magic Comprehensive Rule 118.5. If an effect sets a player's life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.

I just want to point out that I love how they are no longer making the mythics be must have tournament staples. No lotus cobras or baneslayer angels or vengevines in this set.

That looks like the Whomping Willow to me. I am inherently suspicious of anything from Innistrad that is pretending it's not trying to kill me.

Twisted Image doesn't work to kill a player, when the Tree's toughness becomes 0, it immediately dies (when state based effects are checked) and isn't there to perform the switch when it's ability resolves.

I have no worries about Turn to frog.
In fact, run Turn t Frog with this card.
Hell, run Soul Conduit with it.
So, change life totals, in response to it, turn to frog your own tree then Soul Conduit your opponent with a sly grin on your face as you just put them at 1 Life.

My first impression was very wrong--this thing is awesome! It is an amazing defender with a very relevant ability, plus the flavor is strangling me :P
Also, best WTF moment: When I equipped this with a Sword of Feast and Famine

Most bizarre card ever. More Unglued than many Unglued things. And the art is spectacular. Yeah.
