This card is just completely terrible, isn't it? Yes, it is. I'll answer that myself.
Why on earth would so many people give this such a high rating?
I mean... it is very possible your opponent doesn't even HAVE very many artifacts or creatures at all and you can't even try to get any legitimate value out of this card even if you are in a position where they have a big graveyard...

@Malachorn - During the game, if your opponent doesn't have very many creatures going to the graveyard, there's something wrong...either your deck isn't doing its job (by keeping you safe) or they're running a creatureless deck (which tends to have artifacts in it anyway). How many black kill spells are there nowadays??
Hell, throw this in a B/R hellbent deck with kill spells (Go for the Throat, etc) and artifact destruction (Smash, Shatter, Smelt etc), then use this to get enough mana to empty your hand (if needed) and swing with your beaters.
