I can't really hate on this guy at all. He's become the driving engine for my casual B/R Goblin deck, with Wort, Boggart Auntie and Squee, Goblin Nabob and of course Auntie's Snitch – you can cycle through for things like Goblin Sharpshooter and a Gorgon's Head while storing little guys like Spike Jester in your graveyard for later use. Works well with storing Fodder Launch and Tarfire. too. *Sigh* I can't rate him less than a 4.

Rummaging Goblin + Squee, Goblin Nabob = maxed out Archivist. Also works well w/ anger. The card isn't as bad as you'd first think it is. Also, where the colon is actually makes for extremely good synergy with Rings of Brighthearth and Illusionist's Bracers.
That being said, this card is only really playable in limited and some EDH decks that have little card filtering. I play this in my Krenko EDH deck just because it's essentially a token spawner and a way to filter and put anger directly into my graveyard. I could also see people playing this if someone is trying to pull off graveyard shenanigans, but even then, why are you playing red? He essentially gives each card in your hand Cycling
