Flash doesn't seem to pair well with then having to invest a bunch more mana. Doesn't save a creature since vampires generally need the toughness more than the power.

Surprise! my Markov Blademaster can now hit you for six on turn 4. good luck killing the creature withought removal. Of course, that does seem to be a theme of this set.

Horrible card. Two mana, and it does nothing. Four mana and it gives a creature +2/+0. Garbage. 0.5/5

It took me a while to discover the utility of this card. I made a black/red aggro deck in a Dark Ascension draft. After I had assembled my deck, I needed a coaster, so I used a copy of Talons of Falkenrath.

If you get a heartstone, this becomes a firebreathing plus, but it isn't powerful enough on its own.

More permanent, but also more expensive and red-intensive than Enrage. Less red-intensive than Ghitu Firebreathing.
There are worse Auras to pair with Thran Golem...

I know this one guy who went ape-s**t when he saw this during the Dark Ascension prerelease.
"Man, this is going to wreak havoc!" he said.
I didn't want to tell him otherwise, especially since he was my first opponent. Tragically, guess which spell didn't do as good a job than first perceived?
I think with something called Talons of Falkenrath, you'd think it'd give First Strike in addition. However, I think that'd actually be really dangerous in limited...

With Etherial Armor as an instant combat trick / boost, giving +1 +1 and firebreathing potential. Bruna in a UWR deck? Edit: Combo with Illusionist's Bracers doubling the boost.

Well, since it's an ability granted to the creature, how about Training Grounds?
