I run this with Crimson Acolytes and Obsidian Acolytes so they cant be removed. just keep tapping plains to give them protection after the spells are cast. Seeing as most removal is black or red, its pretty solid.

Basically will eat pretty much anything that says "target creature"... Not only will he eat a Doom Blade or a Lightning Bolt destined for an important creature, but he will also eat mostly anything an opponent can throw at his OWN creatures. This effect is amazing.
