Not bad. I mean, Detain has been proving to be a dangerous ability, more-so than Scavenge and Unleash.
That's mostly because Detain works perfectly against Scavenge: You put all of your counters on 1 creature, and then swing. What happens if you don't allow your creature to attack/block/use an ability?
That being said, this is still a little costly. 5-CMC would've been absolutely amazing for limited.

Historically, a 3/3 flier costs 5 in blue, at common.
This is fair, but it's a fair common. Not all of those can be all-stars. As far as that's concerned, I think this card stacks up pretty well. Fun in limited, unlikely to see use in constructed.

Sometimes with Isperia in hand, I still play this instead. If you're playing Azorius well, you shouldn't need a big creature as long as you can detain, even just one creature for one turn.
Works well to bounce with Deadeye Navigator

Moan and groan all you want, but it's still 3 points of flying damage and a break from a creature in limited. It's not good and it won't always have a place in your deck, but sometimes it'll be worth running.

Entertaining as the detain mechanic is, this really could have used flash. As is, 6 is way to much, when for the same CMC you can get Isperia herself.

There is better detainers. But heck. In limited I want as many detain creatures I can get.

A flying 3/3 for six mana that Detains for one turn? I do not want.
