Not a game changer, but in my Control U/W standard deck he gives me the time and peace of mind to get those game changers out! He's kept me from getting bloodied early, middle, and late in games. My buddies hate when he comes out, not because he's a brute, but because he opens the door for my brutes to come in and uppercut them! Use in conjunction with, Inaction Injunction, and Dramatic Rescue and watch for flying debris from your opponent!

It's not that bad. But, on turn two, your opponent might often not have anything in play that you can detain.

It's a cheap card with a strong ability and it is a soldier as well. I like this card and that says a lot coming from me because I am a pro.

Does this card detain a card forever? or just one turn?
also if this card does detain a card forever what happens with the opponents card when he destroys az arrester?

Solid - a 2/1 for two with a nice comes into play ability.

Probably the best of all the "detain" cards. Most of the other stuff is too overcosted for nondraft formats.

Solid early game drop with detain, or late game to disable something large. There's a good place for this in human decks and decks trying to use a lot of detain. Also handy pick in draft, it's a great common.

@Mowagh: Why would you ever want to let Vexing Dexil live turn one if you aren't going to just kill it on your turn? Seems like a really bad startergy. This is mostly going to be played in limited.
An interesting comparison can be made to Inaction Injuntion. Generally speaking, aggresive decks will prefer this, while controll decks will like the card draw, and midrange could justify either (or both).
