Yes, this card is bad. But on the plus side, the guy in the art is wearing a Cranial Plating, so he totally deserves it.

How about a morbid Brimstone Volley with an Ancient Grudge?

Same CMC, but at instant speed.

The card advantage does not seem worth it to me.

Strangely enough, I am considering the use of this card as unexpected artifact removal in a Zedruu Chaos/Bludgeon Brawl EDH deck. Sorcery speed is a bit slow, and it's hella expensive, but for the dunce who has decided to equip all his artifact lands (mycosynth lattice says hi) for comedic effect, it's hilariously efficient.
