Sickening ability? check.
Lasting Toughness? check.
Pocket change cost? check.
Yep, one of the better white cards.

We all know lifegain isn't a win condition (cough, *Felidar*, cough), but cards like this make it more and more attractive every day!

As Lord_of_Tresserhorn said, Felidar Sovereign makes this card FUNNY. If you're a casual player who doesn't care about format changes, this combo would be INSANE. Not to mention the fact that this card also turns a card from Avacyn Restored, Cathedral Sanctifier, into a one mana "I now gain six life" card.
Also, I'm just going to say this now - if they EVER reprint this card, they SHOULD also reprint Serra Ascendant at the same time.
One last thing - Note the ultimate effect of M13's version of Ajani, or even the original Ajani Goldmane's ultimate with this. Insane.
EDIT: I had originally seen this card BEFORE seeing some of the later cards in the set, INCLUDING Serra Avatar. Life recovery decks now have a win condition.

Life gain decks look prettier and prettier each set. I think we're not too far off from seeing a playable dedicated life gain deck.

This guy combos with many different cards. Lifegaining can win you games if you are a pro like me.

@Silver-Paladin Even statistically better cards aren't strictly better because things with higher power are more vulnerable to certain spells in some cases, etc.

Strictly better than Boon Reflection, but generally it's easier to get rid of a creature than enchantment... but in my opionon it's better, much more better.
