If there was no punishing fire, this thing wouldn't be in this set. So why not put punishing fire as the mythic rare?

As much as I like the new art, I agree that other vault lands would have been more deserving. This would have looked drastically different than the orgiginal just because of the standard border. I also half suspect that this was chosen to please the many, many players who liked the original card, but were dismayed by the horrendous r/g Future sight border, In much the same way that they showcased simplicity on the new dryad arbor

This reprint's art is just gorgeous.

Even without Punishing Fire (it's banned in Modern), this is almost Taiga in a deck that say, wins the game through an infinite combo. Red and green are already the most aggro of colors - if there were a U/B or U/W version they would have been even more like the original Alpha duals (minus the fetching capacities).

Finally shelled out for these suckers. A non-blue staple in Legacy and Modern; though for very different reasons.
Both arts are quite beautiful; it's a bit sad the powerhouse Punishing Fire becomes off of the back of this; but eating creatures and Planeswalkers alike (while being a grindy win con) is a thing.
