Yes, if you played this, let it resolve, then played something like overrun your creatures would get trample.

I can't see this being too useful given its high cost unless you can force a Wrath effect or something similar out of it. Could have some amusing interaction with Lifelink or anything else that would benefit from the doubling of damage (since Trample won't work.) Also, we clearly need a "Song of Blood" card at some point if we ever go back to Urborg, etc.

I'm pretty sure that double strike creatures will do 4 times there power in damage. And a good way to get around the no trample drawback is to use Tornado elemental and lone wolf type cards.
