, there are better choices. It's like Mighty Leaping an opponent's creature only to Plummet it, which I'm proud to say I pulled off more than once at the M12 prerelease, just for fun. ^_^

Why did you guys give this 2 1/2 stars, while Mire Blight (black carbon-copy of this) got 3 1/2?
Green needs creature removal far more than black - which has a billion creature killers already, many of which are overpowered (Doom blade, anyone?) Mortal Wound is pretty nice. Just a single mana, and the next time your opponent's creature blocks or is blocked, it's gone. Has nice synergy with Prodigal Sorcerer, Pestilence, D'Avenant Archer, and basically anything reusable so you don't lose card advantage. In some cases a Hurricane or Sandstorm works well with it, where it's dealing with other creatures/players at the same time.
Strike fear into your opponent with Mortal Wound. 3.5 out of 5.

Can combo with a pinger for green removal. Or with first strike creatures. Or even regenerate, which green actually has. The trick is to be able to take use of its ability without spending 2 cards to destroy the creature.
