Sure there are more efficient options that do both effects, but none this versatile.

Modern version of night / day.
Advantages of Profit / Loss:
- profit costs less mana than day
- profit can't be redirected
- night hits all creatures a player controls
- fuse
Advantages of Night / Day:
- day can also be cast on other people, making it better in multiplayer games (especially team games)
- night costs one mana instead of three

An over-costed card is definitely not a joke, and I have no intention of making light of it. And it can be a tough and emotional thing for players to go through, speaking from personal experience. And I know that it's often much harder on constructed than on draft. However, I also know that it doesn't necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of your life. People can move past it, and heal.

Card sucks... Totally over costed... Compard to zealous persecution, this is not even close... You'd think profit would cost 1w and loss would cost 1c/1b... Still overcosted compared to ZP but at least close with some flexibility.... This is just a joke of a card..

Hum , having this card in front of me i'm thinking that if you reduce one of the cost then the associate spell would be too good alone...

Strictly better than Glorious Charge, strictly better than Cower in Fear... almost always worse than Zealous Persecution. Oh well. 2/5
