This isn't really back. Modern Masters is not a standard set so any card you get in it is not actually legal in standard. The only purposes for the set are:
1) Increase availability of cards that were printed very few times and are now old.
2) Create a cool limited environment
3) Money? But you could say that about any set.

What is the purpose of putting this in Modern Masters? I mean, not to insult the card, but how does it synergize with anything in the entire rest of the set?
Things like Faerie Mechanist or Desperate Ritual are awesome in MM, because they create bridges between multiple archetypes (Faeries/Artifacts and Arcane/Storm, respectively), but what does Mind Funeral do? GBU dredge?

Really powerful in a mill deck, but then you'd have to be playing mill. They'd need to print more ridiculously powerful mill cards to negate the drawback of playing a mill deck.
